Overview

What are the different types of rooms available in your hospital and what are the charges?
General, General Payment, Semi Special, Special, Deluxe.

General Ward
Ten patients in a cubicle and a bathroom in the wing.

Semi Special
A twin sharing room with an attached bath, couch for each patient’s attender

Special Room
A private room with attached bath, cable television, telephone with local call facility and a separate bed for the attender.

Deluxe
Air-conditioned room with attached bathroom, channel cable television, and telephone
Bed charges are calculated on a 24 hour basis from the time of admission. In case of discharge, a grace of 04 hours is provided. If patient is required to be transferred to the Intensive Care Units, the room/ bed that the patient was occupying prior to the transfer is to be vacated. The patient’s party can occupy the room too, provided they pay charges for the same simultaneously.
All patients are requested to sign a declaration of payment as per the hospital charges for admission. During your stay, if you have not received any intimation of amount accrued to your account, kindly contact the Billing Section.

What are the Visiting Hours?
The Visiting hour is from 4:00pm – 6:00pm.

How many passes  do You Issue?
To manage the mass, we will issue only 1 pass (Only for one attender) in general ward the passes are to be surrendered at the Billing section at the time of discharge.

Can I bring food from my House?
  • Out Side Food Not Allowed
  • Food service is available for patients as per doctor’s advice and patient requirement. Attendant will also be provided food at extra cost in the special rooms of the hospital.
  • The food charges will be added to the main bill.

For Patients In General Wards
Patients admitted in General Wards will be provided free food which includes breakfast, lunch, dinner as per hospital menu. If the patient orders for anything other than the set hospital menu, it will be charged extra. Attendant will not be provided food of the hospital.

After admission can the patient be transferred to Higher Class?
Yes, but it is subject to availability of bed. All charges shall be billed for the higher class from the date of transfer.

After admission can the patient be transferred to lower Class?
Yes, subject to availability of bed other than General ward and payment of all outstanding amounts.

When do I have to pay the balance amount of Deposit?
Total amount of deposit is to be paid at the time of admission. If you fail to pay the required amount at the time of admission, the same has to be paid within 24 hours.

What is the mode of payment Acceptable?
Payments are accepted by Cash/Demand Draft (DD can be drawn in favour of Vydehi Institute of Medical Sciences & Research Centre) / Traveler’s cheque/ all types of Credit Cards only.

Is my TPA policy accepted at your Hospital?
Yes, TTK, Mediassist, Bajaj Allianz, Appollo DKV, Star Health Insurance, ICICI Prudential, Yashaswini etc.,

Do you provide Ambulance Services?
Yes, contact Casualty it is open 24 hours.

What is the procedure of final Settlement?
A provisional bill is given to the patients at first. If they are satisfied, they can come down to the Billing department, where the final bill is provided. The billing counter is functional for 24 hours.

How do I get my discharge slip?
After final settlement you will be given a discharge slip, which has to be handed over to the Security Staff at the exit.

What is the procedure for Refund?
You have to produce the original receipts for any refund. Refund of an amount higher than Rs.10,000/- is made by cheque, except special cases like outstation candidates. This is refunded within 10 days. All cash refunds are done immediately. The department is functional for 24 hours.

How will I come to know my billing status or the amount of additional deposit I am required to pay?
Billing Coordinator will inform all the admitted patients every day. The patients can also ask the ward in charge nurse to provide the details. It shall be appreciated, if the same is settled within 24 hours.

How do I get the Discharge Summary?
Your discharge summary will be given to you by the Nurse Incharge

Where do I collect pending reports of investigations done during Admission?
Pending reports can be collected from Central Lab

Can we buy medicines of consumables from outside?
Yes

What is the procedure for reservation of Operation Theatre?
For Operation Theatre – kindly get the date confirmed from the doctor for operation. For reserving a bed – kindly decide your choice of room and contact Admission & Billing Department.

Do I have to pay any amount for confirming the Operation?
Yes, you have to pay the deposit according to the surgery charges.

After booking for Operation Theatre, can I make a Cancellation?
Yes, kindly get the authorization letter from your consultant / surgeon and then contact the Admission Counter.

After cancellation of Operation Theatre, can we get the refund of the Deposit Paid?
Yes, on producing the original receipts and the surgeon’s authority letter, your deposit will be refunded.

What is the actual mode of Operation?
You may bring the patient along with the Admission Slip (available at the concerned OPD) to the Admission and Billing Department. If you have any credit facility, kindly bring your letter of Authority from your company and contact our Corporate Relations Department. After fulfilling the formalities at the Admission Counter, you will be given an In Patient (IP) Number. Kindly quote the same for any enquiry. You shall be guided to the floor / room allotted.
