Overview
Periodontics is the branch of dentistry concerned with diseases of the gums and bone, their diagnosis and treatment.Gum (Periodontal) disease is caused by bacterial infections of the soft tissue and bone that supports the teeth. The disease can cause tissue and bone destruction eventually leading to tooth loss. Depending on the stage of the gum disease, the treatment ranges from complete Cleaning (Scaling) to Periodontal surgery.
The department has a 3700 sq ft clinic area fitted with 26 electrically operable chairs. The sterilization room is adequately equipped with 2 autoclaves, an ultrasonic sterilizer and a hot water sterilizer. The average patient inflow is 40 new patients besides old appointment and recall cases.
