- Dr.Yashaswini the MD radiation oncology post graduate, presented a case of retinoblastoma treated at Vydehi Institute of Oncology, in the recently held " genetic factors in retinoblastoma" conference conducted by Narayana Nethralaya.

- Mr. S. Sowmya Narayanan, Chief Medical Physicist has been invited as National FACULTY for the LIVE IMRT Workshop conducted during International Conference on Head & Neck Cancer, dated 22,23 Jan 2010, jointly organised by Regional Cancer Centre, Trivandrum and National Cancer Centre, Singapore.
- Vydehi institute of Oncology has been treating children suffering from retinoblastomas- a curable malignancy of the eye in children. Most of these children are at present referred from the Sankara eye hospital, Bangalore and according to Dr.M.S.Ganesh, Head of Oncology centre, a formal tie up has been proposed and is under way. The treatment which is highly effective has been made very affordable for the children, thanks to the policy of subsidized treatment for children approved by the Director of VIMS-Mrs.D.A.Kalpaja.

Mr.S. Sowmya Narayanan, Chief Medical Physicist, Department of Radiation Physics has presented scientific paper in 10th Binnial ESTRO Physics conference of European Society of Therapeutic Radiation Oncology (ESTRO), held at the Netherlands and he was the only invitee from India to deliver lecture on IGRT in Varian's European Users' Meeting.

Under his guidance, the department has presented three scientific papers in the annual conference of Association of Medical Physicists of India held at Hyderabad. This is the maximum contribution from any single institution.
- He is also instrumental in the designing of Curriculum for the course M.Sc. (Radiation Physics) which was approved by Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Bangalore.

- Dr.M.S.Ganesh, Chief surgical oncologist and Head of Oncology- Was invited to deliver a specialty lecture on Testicular cancers in the surgical post graduate education program organized by the Surgical society of Bangalore held at Bangalore medical college on 25-11-09.
- Dr. M.S.Ganesh was chosen by the FEDERATION OF INDIAN CHAMBERS OF COMMERCE AND INDUSTRY (FICCI) to peer review the information developed on breast cancers.
